Now THIS is an M&M flavor I can get behind!

Yesterday, M&M's made a big announcement about a new flavor that will be hitting shelves soon, but not soon enough. Caramel M&M's are scheduled to go on sale starting in May of 2017!

My first thought was, "YES! That sounds AMAZING!" And my second thought was, "wait, how is this not already a flavor?" In M&M's 75-year history, caramel filling has never happened. We have flavors like peanut butter, pretzel, heck we even have pumpkin spice, but no caramel. It's about dang time!

M&M's is saying that this is could be one of their biggest launches in history, because they don't often experiment with fillings, just flavors. This filling was a bit of a challenge (and an expensive endeavor) for the company, with the Mars Chocolate vice president of research and development Hank Izzo telling CNN, "It was a big technological challenge for us. We never before had a M&M lentil with a true soft center, so we had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse." The manufacturing setup is still being worked on, which is why we won't be tasting the new candy until May of next  year.

Yay or nay to Caramel M&M's? Let us know what you think!
