Bobby’s Weekend Racing Wrap-up

Here we are into the final two months of the racing season. With other commitments for Friday & Saturday night, our racing schedule had us at the Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway Sunday night. If you've never been to the Dubuque Speedway for a race, you're missing out. Fun track to race on and to watch with the high banked corners and picturesque view of the hills of Dubuque County.

We came oh-so close to taking home a win last night. Congratulations to Joel Callahan of Dubuque, as he had the fastest car last night. I was able to lead the first half of the race but didn't have the set-up to lead all 25 laps. We had a fast car but racing it was like trying to wrestle a 2,300 pound bear. At one time I looked up a the scoreboard to see we had completed 19 laps with still 6 to go. I was able to suck it up and hang on to finish 2nd. I was definitely ready for a cold drink afterwards.

My racing schedule for this weekend will be Saturday night at Independence Motor Speedway and back to Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday night.

Coming up Sunday August 21 & 28, Dubuque will be running double late model features for one low admission price.
