According to a press release from the Iowa City Police Department, an adult female reported she was in a parking lot at 625 South Gilbert Street in Iowa City Monday evening when a tan minivan pulled in. A man, reportedly, jumped from the driver's side sliding door and approached the woman. She told police he pointed a black handgun at her and "told her to give him her money." She told the man she had no money and he jumped back in the vehicle, which sped away. Police responded to the scene at around 8:10 Monday night.

The woman was not hurt and Iowa City Police couldn't locate the vehicle.

The woman described the man as a college-aged white male, approximately 5-feet 8-inches tall with a thin build. He had the hood up on a black hooded sweatshirt and was wearing black basketball shorts.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $1000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
