The balloons are back!

Bass Farms in Mount Vernon is getting set to host their 3rd annual Farm Glow on Saturday, September 24th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy glowing hot air balloons from Buzzard’s Glory Balloon Company at dusk. In addition to the glowing balloons, there will also be live music from local band Young the Lion, food trucks, balloon art from The Balloon Buffoon, and face painting by Regan’s Face Painting.

Bass Farm is home to a variety of family activities, including mini golf, a giant jumping pad, a corn maze, a tire playground, and plenty of games, so there will be lots to do before the balloons start glowing. The farm also sells sixteen different flavors of ice cream and other fresh, locally-made products in their farm store.

If the weather cooperates, Bass Farm's Balloon Glow will go on as planned on September 24th. If it is raining or the wind is too strong to inflate the balloons, there is a rain date set for Saturday, October 1st. Admission for the event is $8 per person, with ages 2 and under free. For more information, you can check out the official website HERE, or the Facebook Event HERE.

Earlier this summer, the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival held their annual Balloon Glow, and this year's event was bigger than ever! The new venue was huge, so there were lots of balloons and lots of guests. You can check out some of the photos from the 2022 event below:
