98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Matt Derifield

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Matt Derifield, who was nominated by Kalisha Exline-Sandner! The entry reads:

"Matt started his career as a firefighter in 2011 while advancing to Captain. He is the most selfless person I have the privilege of knowing. He has left countless family functions, events, and gathering of friends, all to commit to serving and protecting his community. He is truly an inspiration to many!"
