What is the key to happiness? It turns out its sleep! I love catching a few z's as much as the next person and a new survey shows that how much sleep you get can actually lead to how happy you are.

The survey says if you want to be 'perfectly happy' then you should sleep for seven hours and 6 minutes. If that seems fairly precise, you're right. Not seven hours and five minutes, EXACTLY seven hours and six minutes!

If you want to be 'pretty happy', sleep between six hours and 48 minutes to seven hours. Anything less than that, you're miserable. The survey also found that women were more likely to get the least amount of sleep.

What you do BEFORE you got to bed makes a big difference too. Focusing on work or watching TV or playing video games is discouraged. Instead, try meditation or a relaxing shower before hitting the pillow.

Full disclosure, the survey was done by a mattress company so maybe they're just trying to sell beds. The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep a night, with children getting more.
