If I were to tell you that in 2015 there was a state in the U.S. that you couldn't fly to, you'd call me crazy, right? Get ready to call me crazy. Last week Frontier Airlines dropped flights to Wilmington Delaware's New Castle Airport. That left Delaware as the only state that without commercial air service. In order to fly to Delaware, you'd have to charter a private jet. Delaware has had a rough go of it as far as airlines are concerned. Frontier is the seventh airline since the 1960's to have started service there, only to eventually end it. Part of the problem is location. Wilmington is just 65 miles from Baltimore, home of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and only 28 miles away from the Philadelphia International Airport. Taking all that into consideration, it's still amazing to think there is a state that you can't fly to. Sorry Delaware.
