Tuesday is the day that new movies are released. When they hit stores they're in the form of DVD or Blu Ray disc. Before digital and HD images took over, the king of movies was the VHS tape. You can still find them at second hand stores and garage sales, but new movies are no longer put out on VHS. What was the last film to be released on the format? The movie 'A History of Violence' in 2006 is the last major studio film to be released on VHS. If you have a copy, save it. It might be worth something someday. The way we watch and listen to things that entertain us is always changing. The next big thing is always right around the corner. I'm big on Blu Ray right now. But how long before that is replaced by a better and crisper image? My collection is nearing 100 movies. What do I do with them when I can't buy a Blu Ray player anymore? I guess I'll ask the guy who has nothing but VHS tapes in his basement.
