Garth Brooks treated a group of fans in Austin, Texas to a very special surprise performance on Friday night (March 17) during South by Southwest, turning up at a small club to play a set of songs acoustically in an intimate setting.

The country superstar played a surprise show at the Broken Spoke in Austin, according to Austin360. Brooks kicked his show off at 11PM with "Friends in Low Places" and played 17 songs over the course of the next 40 minutes in a hits-laden set that included "The Thunder Rolls," "Two of a Kind (Workin’ on a Full House)" and "That Summer." Check out "That Summer" above, and  "The Thunder Rolls" in the video below.

Brooks closed the up-close-and-personal set with “The Dance,” then followed it with a brief encore of "Callin' Baton Rouge" before calling it a night.

The performance capped off an extremely busy day for Brooks, beginning with a press conference Friday morning at which he announced his new single, "Ask Me How I Know," and revealed his plans for a free show Saturday night (March 18) for Austin residents.

His keynote address in the afternoon featured Brooks and Amazon Music Vice President Steve Boom in a conversation about Brooks' exclusive streaming deal with Amazon, which marks the first time all of his music has been available for streaming in one place. That deal includes his most recent studio album, Gunslinger, which features his newly released single.

Brooks is also set to continue his three-year world tour, which is expected to finally wrap its North American leg in 2017, after which he and wife Trisha Yearwood are expected to announce a string of concert dates overseas. He also recently announced that he will play two shows at RodeoHouston in 2018.
