When spring arrives, and nice weather does too, we all like to get outside and enjoy it. Unfortunately that doesn't just mean kids on bikes and scooters. As the weather gets nicer, crime rates also rise. A new study found that there is a relationship between the temperature outside and the amount of bad stuff that happens. Crime remains low when it's freezing outside. But as temperatures rise, so does crime. It peaks when it hits 64 degrees. Then it drops off as the temperatures become increasingly hot and steamy. But its not just that criminals enjoy the nice weather, its that the rest of us do too! More people are outside when its nice, so there are more potential victims. People leave their windows open to enjoy the fresh air, making it easier for thieves to get in. Just a few things to remember as we all enjoy the spring time weather.
