Unexpected Find Shocks Shoppers at Iowa Bin Store

Discount 'bin' stores are all the rage in Iowa and across the nation. Shoppers can browse tables full of bins with overstock and returned items and potentially find some great deals in the process. At a recently opened discount store in Iowa, shoppers found more than they bargained for.

Where Ya Bin Opens First Iowa Location

On May 2nd, Where Ya Bin opened its first Iowa location, according to the Des Moines Register. Shoppers can save up to 90% off retail on everything from clothes to purses to diapers. Every week, the store brings in truckloads of returned or overstock items from major retailers, according to the Register. Prices start at $10 on Friday and drop to as low as 25 cents by Thursday. Where Ya Bin is located at 8747 University Ave. in Clive.

What Was Found at Where Ya Bin in Iowa?

The Register reports that Clive Police were called to the store on May 23rd to investigate a report that approximately one pound of marijuana had been found by a customer at Where Ya Bin. The drugs were found within a sealed bag inside a postal box in one of the bins. The package was purchased at a bulk sale and had no address on it, according to the Register.

Why Was the Package of Marijuana at Where Ya Bin?

The Register reports that undeliverable packages can be sold as overstock, which is how the store came into possession of the package. Without any records associated with the box, Clive Police say it will be difficult to figure out where the drugs came from. Where Ya Bin has policies in place for situations like this, and told the Register that the store will contact police if something like this happens again.
