Waterloo Cancels Classes Due To Social Media Threat
According to CBS2, schools in Waterloo are closed across the district for the day following a threat on social media. A post from the district's Facebook page says that the threat referenced some of their schools and that the issue is in the progress of being resolved. Here is the official statement from Waterloo schools regarding the issue.
There will be NO SCHOOL today, Wednesday, January 29th. Last evening there was a threat made on social media that referenced several of our schools. The police and school staff worked throughout the night to investigate this social media threat. While we made great progress in resolving the issue, there is still additional investigation that needs to be completed prior to students returning to school. Out of abundunce of caution and to allow police to comlete their investigation, we are cancelling school for today. Please know the safety of our students is our first priority. Thank you for your patience.
