One Person Injured After Car Crashes Through Cedar Falls Business
A startling situation out of Cedar Falls on Thursday, January 11th. If you were out yesterday in Cedar Falls, getting some last-minute essentials for the winter storm, there's a good chance that you came across an interesting scene at Viking Plaza.
The Ulta Beauty Store had crews boarding up their glass windows, according to reports.
One person was taken to the hospital after a dangerous incident unfolded at the makeup store.
What Exactly Happened?
According to a social media statement from Cedar Falls Public Safety officials, on Thursday, January 11th the Black Hawk County Dispatch Center began receiving multiple calls.
Concerned Cedar Falls residents were reporting that a vehicle had hit the Ulta Beauty store at 416 Viking Road. The initial report was that at least one person had injuries from the incident.
Officials from Cedar Falls Police, Fire Rescue, and Mercy One Paramedics responded to the call and headed out to the scene.
The driver was Diane McIntosh of LaPorte City, according to officials. She was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue that had jumped a curb, broke through the glass front of the store, and landed inside of the store.
In the statement from local public safety officials, the building and product had substantial damage from the incident. One person inside of Ulta was struck and suffered "non-life-threatening injuries."
This individual was taken to the hospital by paramedics from Mercy One.
Officials said that the building is structurally sound.
