Popular Cedar Valley Restaurant to Open Cedar Rapids Location

A new dining option is "coming soon" to the Corridor! Oh My Grill Halal Mediterranean Grill announced this week that they are set to open a location in Cedar Rapids this summer!

About Oh My Grill

Oh My Grill first opened at 2020 College St in Cedar Falls in the spring of 2019 as a burger joint. Over the next five years, the restaurant became well known for its elaborate burgers, loaded fries, and delicious milkshakes.

Then, in the spring of 2025, Oh My Grill surprised everyone when they announced on social media that they were switching up the restaurant's concept. They traded in their signature burgers for a menu centered around Mediterranean dishes. According to an article from the Cedar Falls News Hub, the switch-up at Oh My Grill was necessary for several reasons. The article reports:

"The change addressed several challenges the space posed. Char-grilling thick burger patties created considerable smoke, placing pressure on the building’s ventilation system. Each burger could also require about 15 minutes to prepare, which did not always fit the busy schedules of nearby students and instructors moving between classes."

Now known as Oh My Grill Halal Mediterranean Grill, the College Hill restaurant serves dishes like gyros, falafel, shawarma, tandoori chicken, baklava, tabbouleh, and more.

Oh My Grill Cedar Rapids

According to the announcement on their Facebook page, Oh My Grill Halal Mediterranean Grill is getting ready to open their first location outside of the Cedar Valley! The new restaurant will be located at 500 Blairs Ferry Rd in Cedar Rapids, which is in the Blairs Place Plaza near C Ave. The post reads:

"This space is about to become home to fresh Mediterranean favorites, authentic shawarma, sizzling BBQ, and so much more. Every wall, every detail, and every decision is being built with one goal to create an incredible experience for the Cedar Rapids community."

The Cedar Falls News Hub article reports that the owners also hope to eventually add breakfast, coffee, and pastries at the new Cedar Rapids location.

Construction is underway at the new Oh My Grill, but we don't have an opening date just yet. The restaurant says to "follow along as we share construction updates and bring this vision to life."

Oh My Grill Chargrilled Burgers

If you were a fan of the burgers that Oh My Grill previously served at their College Hill location, I have some good news for you! Back in May, they announced that they would be bringing their burgers back, but at a brand new location. Oh My Grill Chargrilled Burgers recently opened inside The Mall at College Square in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Falls News Hub says that, as of right now, the menu at Oh My Grill Chargrilled Burgers features 10 of their core burgers, as well as a "rotating selection of seasonal and specialty options." There are also sides like garlic mayo fries and sweet potato fries available, with more menu items set to be added in the coming weeks. That includes their famous milkshakes, which are made with ice cream from Hansen's Dairy.
