The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor Gets an Amazing Donation Just Before Christmas!

An amazing donation was given to the Boys & Girls Club of the corridor by UScellular.

The holidays are HERE, and look what has happened right before Christmas! UScellular is spreading some serious cheer with a $5,000 donation of electronics and gear to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor—talk about a tech upgrade!

Who Was at the Big Event?

Guess what? Iowa women’s basketball star Hannah Stuelke was there to help out. She's part of UScellular’s “Life in US Mode” NIL program, which is all about giving a shout-out to amazing female athletes and teaching folks how to make smarter digital choices. Talk about multitasking, right?

Is There More?

Just when you thought it was over, wait, there's more! This donation is just one of 50 gifts from UScellular as part of their Gift of Connection program. The company is showing love to nonprofits across the country with much-needed supplies to help them keep building connections through things like art, music, and sports.

These are two organizations we hold in high regard. We team up with our friends at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Corridor for many things, including the fantastic Fish-O-Rama.  And what can we say to U.S. Cellular but thanks?!  They are a major partner with our Children's Miracle Network to help save children's lives with the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people across Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Marion. With year-round programs focused on academic success, leadership, and character development, the organization serves as a vital resource in the community to help kids build skills that will last a lifetime.

The donation includes various arts and crafts supplies, such as modeling clay, acrylic paint sets, tie-dye kits and canvas boards, aimed to give kids the tools they need to express themselves creatively and explore their artistic potential. The donation also features a selection of toys and games, such as UNO card games, and STEM toys that include coding robots, which encourage teamwork, problem-solving and hands-on learning.

“We are proud to provide the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor with this donation as it continues to be a pillar of support for the community,” said Joshua Olbricht, UScellular’s director of sales in east Iowa. “Giving back is a part of UScellular’s commitment to connect people to what matters most, and we’re honored to give the Gift of Connection this holiday season.”
