The most important two days of radio we do every year is here.  Each summer, 98.1 KHAK hosts a live radiothon from Iowa City to support the Children's Miracle Network. This two-day event, which started in the 1990s, features heartfelt stories from local families and offers opportunities for you to contribute and make a difference. Over the past 25+ years, our listeners have generously donated more than $3.25 million to CMN and local families in Iowa. Last year, 2023, KHAK donated $152,524.  Let's do even better this year.

This year's event, sponsored by U.S. Cellular, is set for Thursday and Friday (August 15-16) and will be hosted by Brain & Courtlin. They'll bring you touching interviews with children and their families who have received care at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Expect stories that will make you smile, some that might bring a tear to your eye, but all of which will deeply resonate with you. You’ll hear about the exceptional care provided by the hospital and the incredible journeys of these families. About The University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, which opened in February 2017, is the only nationally ranked children’s hospital in Iowa and the only one not situated in a major metropolitan area.
