The Best New Food at the 2021 Iowa State Fair Has Been Announced
If you're headed to the Iowa State Fair for its final weekend, make sure you stop and try the winner of the best new food!
Last month, the Iowa State Fair revealed all 63 new foods that would be available at this year's big event. Out of those 63 new foods, only three of them were chosen as finalists in the '2021 People's Choice Best New Food' competition. The finalists were Chicken Egg Salad with Indian Fry Bread at the Cluckin' Coop by the Iowa Egg Council/Iowa Poultry Association, the Peanut Butter and Fluff Cookie Dough at Dipped in Chocolate by Oasis Concessions, and Island Noodles with Teriyaki Chicken at Island Noodles by Brad Jensen. Well, the people have spoken, and we officially have a winner!
Just yesterday, the Iowa State Fair announced that the Chicken Egg Salad with Indian Fry Bread was named the Best New Food at the fair for 2021. The description on their website reads:
"What comes first? The chicken or the egg? The latest food item from the Cluckin' Coop doesn't pick sides. It combines the best of both with their chicken egg salad with Indian fry bread. This protein-packed food will keep Fairgoers energized all day long. The cool combination of the chicken and egg salad combined with the warm crispy fry bread (or chips) is the perfect meal or snack. The chicken and egg salad includes crisp celery, cranberries and toasted pecans. And, to kick it up a notch, they have added cabbage slaw, bacon-tomato aioli, fresh cilantro and a hint of smoked paprika."
If you're interested in trying the new menu item from the Cluckin' Coop, it's located inside the Thrill Ville Entrance.
