CBS2 News reporter Nick Weig shared the story (and a photo of the transaction) on the TV station's website of the thoughtful cop who offered to pitch in to cover the difference.

It's a wonderful lesson that it's not always about winning the race because having a kind heart and lending a helping hand are much more important.
