Cedar Rapids Police have announced an arrest in the murder of a Cedar Rapids teenager over the weekend.

Aaron Kyle Richardson was killed late Sunday evening, September 6, in southeast Cedar Rapids. Richardson was only 15 years old and, this afternoon, Cedar Rapids Police have announced they've arrested a 14-year-old in the murder. Robert Humbles of Cedar Rapids, who is a freshman at Cedar Rapids Kennedy according to a school district press release, is charged with Murder in the First Degree -- a Class "A" felony. Humbles is being held in the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police were called to 361 16th St. SE at 11:14 p.m. When they arrived they found Richardson had been shot in the abdomen. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and died shortly after surgery.

The investigation continues into two other recent shooting events, neither of which resulted in injuries, that authorities believe may be related.
