The Greatest Show on Earth, Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, is pulling the curtain on the show. The final show will be in May this year.

As technology has advanced in our society, whether it be our hand held devices or more options for family adventures, the circus was finding it harder and hard to keep the big top up.

Another problem that led to the the decline of the circus was pulling the elephants from the traveling show. Videos showing the mistreatment of the elephants back in the 1990's led to cities banning the exotic animals.

So now what will happen to the animals? The lions & tigers, among others animals, will be placed in suitable homes and the elephants will continue to stay at the Center for Elephant Conservation in central Florida.

Some circus employees will be moved to other positions within the company. Such shows as Monster Jam & Disney on Ice are part of the division, but most employees will be let go.

A new conference is scheduled for Monday.
