According to KCCI, "The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Monday that patrons of two central Iowa restaurants may have been exposed to measles."

If you ate at the Hardees at 3621 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines on April 13th or the Panera Bread located at 2310 S.E. Delaware Avenue in Ankeny on April 16th, you may have been exposed to measles.

Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease and symptoms usually develop 10-12 days after exposure. Symptoms include pick eye, cough, fever, rash, and runny nose. Long story short, the measles are no fun.

Health care officials are warning people with these symptoms to be very careful. Contact your local physicians before going to an urgent care or emergency room. Measles can spread very rapidly and you should make arrangements with your doctor before leaving your home.

The KCCI story noted that the Department of Public Health said both locations are now safe to visit.
