Restaurant Chain Expanding Into Eastern Iowa
A restaurant chain that specializes in one particular menu item is bound for eastern Iowa for the first time. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will be opening in Cedar Falls in the spring of 2019.
Raising Cane's is known for fresh, never frozen chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, freshly brewed sweet tea, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and their Cane's sauce. The menu is brief. And. It. Works.
The first Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers opened in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 22 years later, there are nearly 400 locations in more than half of U.S. states. Iowa currently has Raising Cane's locations in only Council Bluffs and West Des Moines. The Cedar Falls location will be in Viking Plaza and will open sometime next spring.
The Cedar Falls restaurant is expected to employ 70 and people for those positions are currently being sought. You can apply HERE.
How did 'Raising Cane's' become part of the restaurant's name? CEO Todd Graves explains:
...a friend convinced me to name the first restaurant after my dog, “Raising Cane.” During the renovation of the first restaurant, Raising Cane used to hang around the building site. The first Cane was a friendly, yellow lab who loved to be around people.
Below is "Raising Cane 3." Isn't he adorable?
