A little less than a year ago, there was a big press conference at the US Cellular Center, where it was announced that Cedar Rapids was getting a Professional Indoor Soccer Team. And with that, the Cedar Rapids Rampage was born, adding to the Kernels, Roughriders, and Titans. Today, another press conference was held, again by the owners of the Titans and Rampage, announcing that a Professional Outdoor Soccer Team will be kicking off their season in May, called Rampage United.

“Now we’re able to provide Eastern Iowa soccer fans soccer matches nearly every month of the year.” ~ Chris Kokalis, team Co-owner and General Manager

The news comes with a ton of excitement from Rampage fans, a fanbase that grew quickly this past season, and stays very loyal to their team, even after the struggles an inaugural season brings. The outdoor team will be coached by Hewerton Moreira, who was a crowd favorite on the Rampage this year. Their season will start in May, with eight home games to be played at Clark Field on the Coe College campus. They will become a member of the Premier League of America (PLA), a twelve-team soccer league based around the Great Lakes region of the United States. The full schedule is expected next week.
