An Iowa Man Was Named Panchero’s ‘Queso King’ for the Third Time

Being named the national Queso King once would be an honor, but THREE times?! That's legendary!

In honor of National Queso Day on Saturday, September 20th, Panchero's crowned one lucky customer their 2025 "Queso King." The Queso King is the title given to the person that's ordered queso from Panchero's the most in the past year, and this year's honoree is no stranger to the award! Congratulations to Iowan Josh Davis for being named the 2025 Queso King for the THIRD TIME!

About Josh Davis

According to an article from the Des Moines Register, 24-year-old Josh Davis hails from Grimes, Iowa and works at Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny. His workplace is actually where he was crowned Panchero's 2025 Queso King last Wednesday, September 17th. Josh ordered queso from the chain a whopping 326 TIMES in the past year! Although that number is incredibly high, that's a bit lower than his 2023 order count... 360! The article from the Register reads:

"A few vacations and an appendicitis surgery kept Davis away from his go-to meal, but he made up for lost time by going twice a day."

Josh Davis has been named the Queso King three times now: 2021, 2023, and 2025. Those are all the years that he's been eligible, since one of the prizes for winning is free queso for the next year. He was also awarded with a trophy and some Panchero's merch.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Josh's go-to Panchero's order is a burrito with two scoops of rice, both pinto and black beans, double meat, cheese, mild sauce, and, of course, queso. He somehow NEVER gets sick of it!
