Our First 2020 ‘Teacher of the Week’ Comes From Springville

2020 is finally here, and with it comes a new KHAK 'Teacher of the Week' winner!

Our honoree this week is Amber Nietert, a first-grade teacher in the Springville Community School District. Amber was nominated by Tammy Mysak. Her entry said:

"I take my dog Phantom to Mrs. Nietert's class once a month so her first graders can read to him. Mrs. Nietert is the first one in the Springville school to have a reading therapy dog visit her class. Her class is always well behaved and very eager to read to Phantom."

For being such a wonderful teacher, Amber will be receiving gift cards to Half Price Books in Cedar Rapids and Wild Hogs Saloon & Eatery in Walford.
