It doesn't exactly feel like summer right now, but rest assured it soon will. When it finally warms up, you'll be ready to jump in the pool and take a dip.

The first announcement of the opening of local pools in Cedar Rapids has come via press release from the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation, and although it might be a little rainy, it will be Noelridge Aquatic Center!

A "pre-season swim" opens the season on Saturday, May 25 through, Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day). Lap swims will be held from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. each day and open swims from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday.

A “kick-off” swim will be held at all outdoor municipal pools on Friday, May 31 with lap swims from 5:15-6:15 p.m. and open swims from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The pools will be open as scheduled for the weekend of June 1- 2, but because the school year was extended due to snow days, they will only be open during the evening from Monday, June 3-Thursday, June 6. Regular season swimming will begin at all pools on Friday, June 7.
