The world of video streaming is changing every day. Just ask industry leader Netflix. Once the only streaming game in town, the company is facing new competition from other streaming platforms and a drop in subscribers here in the U.S. Sometimes the only place to go is down.

Figures released this week show the first quarterly drop in U.S. subscribers since 2011. Over 126,000 people left Netflix last quarter. This coincides with a price increase on it's the most popular plan, from $11 to $13 a month. That won't break anyone's budget, but when new streaming services from Disney, Warner, and others on the horizon many people are weighing just how much they need to spend a month on streaming services.

The streaming world is getting crowded. Disney Plus will debut at a lower price point than Netflix at $8 a month. It's important to note they will have a much smaller video library. Hulu has lowered it's add based package from $8 to $6 a month. We haven't even mentioned new services from Apple, Warner Media, and Universal. Plus, Netflix is losing it's two most popular shows, Friends and The Office, to rival streaming services.

Are the latest numbers a blip for Netflix or a sign of what's to come?
