Morgan Wallen Announces World Tour, Including Local Stop
One of the hottest acts in music today is bringing his World Tour to us. Who's ready for Morgan Wallen?!
Thursday morning, Wallen announced the "One Night At A Time World Tour" that will feature more than 40 concerts, including a stop less than 90 minutes from Cedar Rapids.
Morgan Wallen competed on NBC's 'The Voice' in 2014 but do you remember when we first laid eyes on him, in person, here in eastern Iowa? It was July of 2018 when he opened for Luke Bryan in Monticello. The night before, Luke Combs had opened for Jason Aldean. Are you kidding me?! Little did we know at the time that we were watching opening acts on back-to-back nights that would become arguably the format's two hottest stars. And it hasn't taken long.
Here are photos of Wallen on stage that July night at the Great Jones County Fair, just over four years ago:
At that time, Wallen's hit with Florida Georgia Line, "Up Down", was riding high on the charts and a song he wrote for Jason Aldean (You Make It Easy) had recently gone to number one. Wallen's career was off to a pretty fantastic start at the time, but it's taken off for the stratosphere since.
Wallen has seen huge success with songs like "Whiskey Glasses", "You Proof", "Chasin' You", "More Than My Hometown", "Sand in My Boots", "7 Summers", "Wasted on You", "You Proof", and his latest, "Thought You Should Know". In early 2021, his Dangerous: The Double Album would help make him the first artist ever to have six songs in the Hot Country Songs Top 10, at the same time.
A Tennessee native, Wallen's "One Night At A Time World Tour" will play in four different countries, on two continents, in 17 stadiums, as well as amphitheaters, festivals, and arenas. It will make a stop at Vibrant Arena at the Mark of the Quad Cities on Friday, April 28, 2023. Wallen will be joined at the Moline show by a pair of newcomers.
ERNEST is the co-writer of hits like Wallen's "Wasted on You", "You Proof", and "More Than My Hometown". He also helped pen "One Mississippi" by Kane Brown, "Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s" by Sam Hunt, and "Son of a Sinner" by Jelly Roll. ERNEST and Wallen collaborated on their hit song "Flower Shops".
Also appearing with Wallen at the Moline show will be TikTok turned country star, Bailey Zimmerman. An Illinois native, Zimmerman is currently riding high on the country charts with his single, "Fall in Love".
The public on sale for this event has been canceled due to the number of people who registered for the Verified Fan Presale. *The concert is expected to sell out during the verified presale. More details on the show are available here.
Listen to 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin each morning next week to win tickets to Wallen's show in the Quad Cities.
