The Wichita Police Department isn't laughing after a mother's April Fool's Day prank led them to her house with full lights and sirens, expecting the worst.

Police said around 8:30 am on Thursday, they were called to a home alongside the Wichita Fire Department and Sedgwick County EMS.

Officers surrounded the home, blocked the streets off, and attempted to make contact with anyone that might be inside the home. After there was no answer, the officers forcibly entered the home but, nobody was there.

Through an investigation, they found that the "victim," Arnthia Willis (58), had called her daughter, claiming to have been shot as an April Fool's Day joke.

Willis was located in Derby, Kansas, and was arrested for an unlawful request for emergency service assistance.

Why anyone would ever think pretending to be dying would be a good prank to pull is beyond me, but I'm sure it was funny at the time since the cops seemed to think it was pretty funny. Not.
