We've all been stopped on interstates due to accidents and at one time or other, you've probably also seen livestock on the loose on or near a major highway. Remember the geese on I-380 in Cedar Rapids a couple years ago? I must admit I've never seen an interstate closed because of runaway spuds. Until now.

According to KETV, the potatoes were set loose on the interstate after a semi swerved to avoid a vehicle late Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 in Nebraska. The tractor-trailer ended up on the shoulder of the interstate and hit an overpass, which split open the trailer of the semi. The driver wasn't injured, but the interstate was closed for about four hours while heavy equipment was brought in to remove the potatoes, even the mashed variety (my favorite).

What's the craziest thing you've seen stop traffic?
