Meet the Guinness World Record Breaker That Calls Iowa Home

When you think of world records and records that could be broken, what comes to mind? I usually think of sports. Pele comes to mind, scoring the most goals in football in a specific period at 1,279.  Recently, Lebron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer, and just the other night scored his 40,000th point against the Denver Nuggets.

Records are Made to be Broken

The thing is, there are tons of records in sports, but even more are not associated with any sport.  For instance, the tallest man ever. Meet Alton, Illinois' Robert Wadlow. Or, how about the most alternative control methods used to complete Dark Souls? May I introduce Bearzly (aka Benjamin Gwin).  Those are just a few of the thousands of records broken in the United States and around the world.

The Record Breakers Are Infiltrating Iowa

That got me thinking, and that can be dangerous.  If there are thousands of records broken annually, some of those record holders will have to be from Iowa.

We do a great job when it comes to breaking records, but sometimes our four-legged friends do the record-breaking.  That's the case here, and the record breaker comes from Newton, Iowa.

What Record Did Joy The MiniPig Break?

Meet Joy the MiniPig! The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes her as the pig that can do the most tricks in one minute, and that number was lucky 13.  The skills she exhibited were honking a horn, toppling a bowling pin, and shaking hands.

Let's be real, I don't even know if a human could get all that done in under a minute.  I don't think we want to test it.  Joy might have her way with us.  Here we are 90 seconds in, still trying to topple a bowling pin, and she's waiting at the finish line.  It would be a sad day for us.  I'm winded just thinking about having to do any of that.

Who is Joy The MiniPig?

According to her Facebook page, Joy is a public figure and the mascot for her family's movie theater.  She also enjoys her role as a therapy pig visiting nursing homes, schools, and many other locations spreading Joy.  Check out her Facebook page to see what she's up to.
