Actor Mark Wahlberg will make a stop in Iowa next week in conjunction with his new movie 'Patriots Day'. Wahlberg will appear at the Hy-Vee corporate campus in Des Moines next Monday for a screening of the film which is set for release January 13th. 'Patriots Day' is the story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three and injured over 260.

The event will also raise money for the Hy-Vee Homefront Initiative program that supports veterans and other groups. The invitation-only crowd will also include fireman, police officers, and members of the American Red Cross.

Officials with Hy-Vee say that Wahlberg wanted to go in on the fundraising event after hearing about Urbandale police officer Justin Martin and Des Moine officer Sgt. Tony Beminio being shot within minutes of each other on November 2nd of 2016.
