
Marion Woman Injured In Domestic Incident Has Died
A woman injured in a domestic incident early Thursday morning, June 28, in Marion has died from her injuries.
According to the Marion Police Department, 24-year-old Stephanie Bowling of 795-13 Bentley Drive in Marion passed away Saturday, June 30.
Marion Police were called to the apartment at 2:53 Thursday morning with the Marion Fire Department and Area Ambulance also responding. Bowling was unresponsive when authorities arrived and she was taken to an area hospital.
27-year-old Cody Brown, also of 795-13 Bentley Drive in Marion, was arrested Thursday morning and taken to the Linn County Jail. A media release Thursday said Brown had been charged with Domestic Assault with Serious Injury.
According to a press release this morning, Monday, July 2, "the investigation is ongoing but no further information is being released at this time."
Bowling was a 2012 graduate of Monticello high school, according to a GoFundMe page created by her classmates. The page set a goal to raise $5,000 to support her two children, who are pictured on the page. As of noon today, $6,398 has been donated. You can donate HERE.
