A crash late Tuesday-evening has left a 43-year-old Marion man with life-threatening injuries.

According to a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Daniel G. Johnson of Marion was traveling eastbound on Highway 30 when he lost control at the Highway 13 northbound ramp. The one-vehicle accident was reported to authorities at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

Johnson was reportedly driving a 2007 Ford Focus ZX3 SD when he lost control, causing the vehicle to roll. Johnson wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by LifeGuard Air Ambulance. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Iowa State Highway Patrol and Linn County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the accident, which was also responded to by the Mt. Vernon Police Department, Mt. Vernon Fire Department, and Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance Service.

In a separate one-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning, one person was killed off I-80 in Iowa County. CBS 2 reports the driver took the Amana Colonies exit off I-80 at approximately 3 a.m. when they failed to stop at the stop sign at U Ave, at the end of the off-ramp. The vehicle then went over a creek before crashing and bursting into flames. The Iowa State Patrol has identified the driver as 60-year-old Rick Inman of Glendale, Wisconsin.

The road wasn't reopened until after 5 a.m.
