Marion Man Arrested After Child Suffers Serious Head Injuries
The Marion Police Department has announced they've arrested 19-year-old Matthew T. Judd of Marion following the hospitalization of his child this summer.
According to a release from the Marion Police Department, the man's two-month-old child was taken to an area hospital on July 12, 2018. The child was suffering from what was described in the release as serious head injuries. After conducting an investigation, the Marion Police Department and the Iowa Department of Human Services asked for an arrest warrant for Judd.
Judd was arrested Friday, October 12 and has been charged with Child Endangerment with Serious Injury, a Class C felony. The Gazette says a conviction carries a sentence of up to ten years in prison.
Judd is being held in the Linn County Jail. The condition of the child, at this time, was not released.
