Iowa Has One of the 10 Best Water Parks in the U.S. for 2024

They've done it again! Lost Island Waterpark in Waterloo is one of the ten best water parks across the entire U.S. in 2024!

USA Today has released their 2024 top ten outdoor water parks in the U.S. list, which is part of the Readers' Choice Awards. We're happy to report that Eastern Iowa's own Lost Island came in at number five on the list!

Lost Island Waterpark in Waterloo has tons of different attractions, including a lazy river, a mermaid cove, three areas for kids, a wave pool, six places for food & drinks, and 11 different waterslides! The major waterslides include:

• Wailua Kupua
• Tá Katipo
• Molokini Crater
• Calypso Cascade
• Kiwi Koaster
• Polynesian Plunge & Samoan Splash
• Emerald Adventure & Jade Rapids
• Lost Souls Falls
• Tangerine Tempest

In addition to all the different water attractions, Lost Island is also home to a miniature golf course and go-karts!

Lost Island Waterpark is only one of two Midwest water parks to make USA Today's 2024 list. The other one is Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, which came in just behind Lost Island at number six.

Lost Island will officially open for the season on Friday, May 31st and will welcome guests daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Sunday, August 25th. You can purchase tickets online HERE.

Lost Island Themepark is also getting ready to open for the season. The first days of the season are Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th, and then the park will remain open for the rest of the summer starting on Friday, May 31st. The park's hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., but on Fridays & Saturdays from June 28th through August 17th, the park will stay open a little later (9:30 p.m.).
