Linn-Mar is Home to Our Latest KHAK ‘Teacher of the Week’
Kids here in Eastern Iowa are currently on a break from school, but that's not going to stop us from honoring amazing educators in Eastern Iowa!
Our latest KHAK 'Teacher of the Week' winner is Chelsie Engelbart, a special education teacher at Indian Creek Elementary in Marion, part of the Linn-Mar School District. Chelsie was nominated by Amber Holub. The entry reads:
"Chelsie is not only an amazing educator, but it takes a special kind of person to be able to think outside the box and prepare lessons for kiddos that need extra support. CHELSIE goes above and beyond always, trying new ideas, conforming to the individual child to help them be their very best always. Maximizing their potential daily. As a parent, it is the best feeling knowing their school day is full of new ideas for them specifically. Our daughter passed away last year, however, CHELSIE had her in her special needs classroom for 5 years. She left a long-lasting imprint on our family with how wonderful Danielle’s specialized education was. She truly unlocked the potential of our child and it carried over to home. We are forever grateful."
For going above and beyond as a teacher, Chelsie will be receiving gift cards to Wild Hogs Saloon & Eatery and Half Price Books.
