According to KCRG, Lindale Mall is accepting donations to help older adults in Cedar Rapids."

It's a joint effort with the great people from Hy-Vee, the United Way of East Central Iowa, and the City of Cedar Rapids. The drive started on Friday, May 1st and will continue until Monday, May 4th.

The overall goal is to assist older people in the community. These folks may be a little more high risk to COVID-19. This is a way to help them and I think it's awesome this drive is happening.

According to the Lindale Mall web page, organizers are asking for the following items to be donated:

  • Hand lotion, hand soap, sheet protectors, disposable bed pads
  • Cleaning supplies: disinfectant wipes, cleaning products
  • Food items: Canned Tuna & Chicken in Water, Whole grain crackers and pasta, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned soup, nuts, seeds & dried fruit.

A donation bin is located at the former Younkers entrance and also at Hy-Vee next to Lindale Mall.

The drive will end on Monday, May 4th.
