Before we show you how we celebrated, we wanted to give you a little background on the tasty cakes E Online published an article revealing ten interesting facts that you may not have know about Twinkies. We won't take you through all ten, but here are some stand out facts.

FACT #1: According to E Online, the world's oldest Twinkie is 40-years-old! 40!! A chemistry teacher let the Twinkie sit out on his chalkboard to show students how processed foods rot (or don't). The scary part is that the Twinkie doesn't even look bad! The snack was there until the teacher retired and is now on display at another academy.

FACT #2: Someone once went on a Twinkie diet back in 2010 and actually lost weight, according to Huffington Post! They only ate Twinkies for ten weeks and wound up losing 27 pounds! Despite their success, it's probably best to try alternative methods if you're trying to lose weight.

FACT #3: TodayIFoundOut.com says that an ingredient found is glue is also in Twinkies! Corn dextrin is not only in the sticky part of envelopes, but it's also in the outer-layer of Twinkies. Not that that little fact will stop you from consuming them.
