Kernels Complete Sweep And Head To Western Division Finals

The Cedar Rapids Kernels scored 6 runs in the 4th inning on their way to a 7-3 victory over Kane County Thursday night. Cedar Rapids won the series 2 games to none and advance to the Western Division Finals for the fourth straight year.

The Kernels will play at either Peoria or the Quad Cities in game one of a best of three series on Saturday night. Those two teams play their winner take all game three later tonight. Playoff baseball returns to Cedar Rapids for game two Sunday at 4:05 p.m. with game three, if necessary, Monday night at 6:35 p.m.

Designated hitter Trey Cabbage had a three run home run for the Kernels in the decisive fourth inning.
