Earlier this year, we learned that the Savanah Bananas were coming to Iowa in 2026. Now, another popular version of America's pastime is coming to the state. Are you ready for Cosmic Baseball?

What is Cosmic Baseball?

The Des Moines Register reports that cosmic baseball games typically begin in daylight but then transition to a full blacklight game experience for the final four to five innings. Players use glow-in-the-dark equipment like UV-reactive baseballs, bats, bases, and even their uniforms so they are visible in the dark.

Cosmic baseball games are also fast-paced. The Register reports that there is no bunting, no mound visits, and there is a home run derby at the end of every inning!

Where is Cosmic Baseball Coming in Iowa?

The Register reports that the Iowa Cubs have announced that Cosmic Baseball will be hosting a game at Principal Park in Des Moines on July 18th, 2026. The game will feature two of the league's teams, the Cosmic Chili Peppers and the Glow Mojis. It will mark the first time that cosmic baseball has appeared in the state of Iowa. The Register reports that the league's entire 2025 tour has sold out.

How Do I Get Tickets for the Game?

Cosmic Baseball will hold a lottery for tickets, much like the Savanah Bananas do. For a chance to get tickets, you can enter the lottery HERE.

While ticket prices haven't been released for games in 2026, ticket prices at some games this year were around $35, according to the Register.
