Orchestra Iowa Bringing ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ to Life in Cedar Rapids

Next year is a big year for Star Wars fans. 2027 will mark 50 years since Star Wars: A New Hope debuted in theaters. The movie was a smash and changed the way movies were made forever. There will be countless celebrations marking the occasion, including one in Cedar Rapids at the home of the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

Celebrating The Music of Star Wars

As iconic as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Han Solo are to the Star Wars universe, so is the music of composer John Williams. Can you imagine a Star Wars movie without his amazing theme?

Orchestra Iowa will honor the music and the movie Star Wars with a special event held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids next year!

Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert

Orchestra Iowa presents Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert on June 12, 2027. The classic 1977 film will be shown on the jumbotron while Orchestra Iowa plays John Williams' amazing score live. If you're a Star Wars fan like me, this will be a must-see event to help mark 50 years of the Force!
