We all have different definitions of having fun. Many people choose where to live based on their options for having a good time. And if there aren't a lot of options available, we just drive to someplace where the 'fun' is! Our friends at Wallethub took a look at what states have the most fun. How did Iowa do? That depends on who you ask.

The survey was based on two main scores that each state received. A score for Entertainment and Recreation and another score for Nightlife. Overall, Iowa ranked #35 out of 50 states when it comes to fun. Not a great number but hang on! A closer look shows that our state has some real positives when it comes to things to do.

First of all, our Nightlife score ranked in the top 20 in the nation. That means the state scored high in beer and wine prices, movie costs, and nightlife options per capita. Other areas Iowa scored well on included most movie theaters per capita ranking 4th, and most golf courses, coming in at number two!

Now there are obvious categories that Iowa just isn't going to score well on. Number of beaches, shoreline mileage, number of marinas, and number of skiing facilities just to name a few. But there are definitely other things Iowa can improve on that geography has nothing to do with. Build more waterparks, amusement parks, and arcades. Spend more on parks and recreation programs. Sure, we're landlocked. But Iowa can prove that cornfields are fun too!
