A recent report showed that overall, Iowans' travel has decreased by 29 percent in the age of social distancing and quarantining due to COVID-19. There's better news on our traffic reduction at this time from the Iowa State Patrol

KCRG says that according to the Patrol, traffic on the state's roads is down by 50 percent. Truck traffic hasn't changed as they are delivering essential supplies and food across the state in an even more crucial period while encouraging the rest of us to do our part to stay in.

Despite a decrease in traffic, the bad news is drunk driving and speeding are on the rise among those who are out.

The Iowa State Patrol reminds us they are out there, monitoring drivers and traffic situations as always, and encourage wise habits on the road as always.
