Iowa Teacher Accused of Secretly Recording Females
A science teacher at Davenport West High School is accused of secretly recording nude videos of two females at his home.
According to KCCI, 58-year-old Clinton Van Fossen has been charged with "five misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy with other crimes." The charges come after Van Fossen was accused of secretly recording nude videos of two females that stayed at his home in Bettendorf, Iowa. It's unclear why the females were staying at his home.
The report states that alleged recordings took place between December 26 and January 4. After a "tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said a teenager was being filmed while nude," Betterndorf officers searched Van Fossen's home on January 7. Officers found and seized spy cameras that were located in a bedroom and hallway. Despite the fact that officers saw video from October of Van Fossen "with his cellphone looking in the direction of the camera and then manually adjusting the camera’s direction," he denied any knowledge of the cameras.
KCCI reports that Bettendorf Police Chief Keith Kimball said there didn’t appear to be any juvenile victims. Van Fossen has been placed on administrative leave with pay, according to the Davenport Community School District. According to Scott County inmate records Van Fossen was arrested on January 17 and released on a cash bond later that day.
