Iowa is Home to One of the Best Places to Go Antiquing in the U.S.

If you're looking for antiques, there's one Iowa town that's full of them!

According to a new article from Only in Your State, Walnut, located in Western Iowa, is one of the best places in the U.S. to go antiquing. Why? The article reads:

"Overall, Walnut, Iowa is home to more than 16 antique shops and malls, and hundreds of individual vendors."

In a town of less than 800 people, that is a LOT of antiques! They don't call it Iowa's Antique City for nothing!

One of the highlights of Walnut a place called The Barn Mall, which is located inside an antique of its own! The barn that it calls home was built in 1894 and features three levels of antiques and 34 different vendor booths. There's also The Granary Mall, which has "100 quality antique dealers from seven states." Plan on spending some time at Bear Trap Antiques, too. They have two floors full of antiques and collectibles. Other businesses include Antique Furniture Emporium, Corn Country Antiques, B Restored, and more.

In addition to all of the shops, the city also hosts The Walnut Antique Show every summer. Beginning in 1982, the show typically has more than 300 dealers from all across the country. The annual event takes place in July over Father's Day weekend.

Walnut, Iowa made the list of 10 Best Antiquing Towns in the U.S. from Fodor's Travel in 2017 and Invaluable's 2016 list of the Top U.S. Towns for Summer Antiquing.
