The field is set for Friday night's opening round of the high school football playoffs. Here's the matchups and brackets in each class.

Let's begin in Class 4A, where eight area teams are in the field, including five teams from the Mississippi Valley Conference. Cedar Rapids Washington (8-1) will play host to Epworth-Western Dubuque (7-2) at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids. Iowa City High (7-2) is forced to hit the road to play Eldredge-North Scott (5-4). Iowa City West (7-2) will also travel as they take on Bettendorf (7-2). Finally, Cedar Rapids Prairie (8-1) will host Waterloo West (8-1).

Eight area teams make up half of the field in Class 3A. West Delaware (8-1) will host Waverly-Shell Rock (6-3). Undefeated Cedar Rapids Xavier (9-0) hosts Davenport Assumption (7-2). Xavier is the sixth team from the Mississippi Valley Conference in the playoff field. Benton Community (8-1) visits Solon (7-2). Finally, Oskaloosa (7-2) is at undefeated Pella (9-0).

Four area squads are in the 2A field. Dike-New Hartford (7-2) hosts Southeast Valley (6-3). Laporte City-Union (8-1) visits Crestwood of Cresco (7-2). Mount Vernon (7-2) will play host to Centerville (5-4). Finally, Williamsburg (7-2) will host Donnellson-Central Lee (7-2).

Four area teams are in the 1A field and they're all on the "Blue Divison" of the bracket. Unbeaten Denver (9-0) will host Guttenberg-Clayton Ridge (7-2). West Branch (6-3) will hit the road to take on once-beaten Iowa City Regina (8-1). The Regals are going for an incredible seventh consecutive state title. Finally, Pella Christian (9-0) will host Sigourney-Keota (8-1), whose only loss is to Iowa City Regina.

In Class A, six area teams are in the 16-team field. Hudson, despite an 8-1 record, will be on the road for their opening round game at Britt-West Hancock (7-2). Fairbank Wapsie Valley (6-3) hits the road to take on undefeated St. Ansgar (9-0). Lisbon (8-1) visits East Buchanan (7-2) in the first round. Finally, another battle of area teams will feature B.G.M.-Brooklyn (5-4) visiting Montezuma (7-2), both schools are in the South Iowa Cedar League.

In 8-player, four area teams made the playoffs. Gilbertville-Don Bosco (8-1) will visit Turkey Valley-Jackson Junction (9-0) Friday night (10/28). Wyoming-Midland (7-2) will host HLV-Victor (7-2). Finally, Iowa Valley (7-2) will visit Twin Cedars (9-0).
