Iowa Drivers Get An ‘F’ When It Comes To Being Polite Behind The Wheel
I've seen and read many surveys that have given high marks to Iowa drivers. We're consistently ranked among the safest according to insurance surveys based on accident rates. But according to a new survey looking at how courteous drivers are, the state actually got failing grades in two categories.
The survey by Kars4Kids gave Iowa an overall D grade for politeness on the roadways. Why so low? Iowa got an F in using turn signals and another F in allowing traffic to merge into your lane. Who knew we were so rude? The survey described Iowa drivers as "not nice to slow drivers, but will respect your need for speed if you pass them."
Iowa did receive high marks in the not stealing someone's parking spot, and allowing someone to pass you. But clearly, we have some work to do! Let's remember to be 'Iowa Nice' in our cars too!
