Harvest season is almost upon us, but you may not want to harvest quite all of your corn.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will actually pay you to keep some of your corn standing, if you live along a state highway. Here's the message they posted on their Facebook page over the weekend:

Farmers - do you have a cornfield along a state highway? We're always looking for partners in our Standing Corn Program. We'll pay you $5/bushel for up to 16 rows of corn left in the field to help with blowing snow over the winter. To find out more, contact your local maintenance garage - http://www.iowadot.gov/districts/contacts.html

Save a little time in the field, get paid for it, and help keep Iowa's roads clear of snow this winter. That's a win-win-win!
