If you're a fan of baking and cooking shows, there's a new Netflix series on the way that you might want to check out. Thanks to a recent article from the Iowa City Press Citizen, we learned that an Iowa baker by the name of Eileen Gannon is set to compete on Blue Ribbon Baking Championship! The series will debut just in time for the Iowa State Fair.

Eileen Gannon is the owner of a company called Sunday Night Foods, which sells a variety of gourmet chocolate sauces. According to the official website, she grew up on on Iowa farm, and spent a lot of her childhood in the kitchen with her mom, helping cook for her seven brothers and six sisters. The Iowa City Press Citizen reports that Eileen won her first ribbons at the Iowa State Fair when she was just 12-years-old, and has won more than 600 state and national baking awards in the years since!

Eileen's history of winning at the Iowa State Fair is what qualified her for the new Netflix show Blue Ribbon Baking Championship. Netflix says that the show will feature "10 award-winning pastry masters hailing from state fairs around the United States" competing in baking challenges for a chance to win $100,000, The show is hosted by actor Jason Biggs and "food and lifestyle expert" Sandra Lee, with Sandra also serving as one of the judges. The other two judges are pastry chef Bill Yosses and baker Bryan Ford.

Blue Ribbon Baking Championship will debut on Netflix on August 9th, just one day after the start of the Iowa State Fair. All eight episodes will be released at once.
